Have you ever bought something on impulse?
You see something you really like. You can’t afford it. You know it’s crazy, but you buy it anyway. Maybe you’ve done that with a piece of clothing. A pair of shoes. Even a car. How about a business? That’s what happened to Camille Carloss.
Camille's husband, Dylan, took Camille on a date to Alexander Books. While they were there, they heard the bookstore was closing. Dylan was the impulse purchase instigator. Camille was the voice of reason. They couldn’t afford to buy the bookstore, and they didn’t own a house yet. Then they came up with a brilliant compromise. They’d get some other people to go into this crazy venture with them. And that’s how Camille, Dylan, and three other people ended up buying Alexander Books.
One of the people who bought into the bookstore with Camille and her husband is Jori Bercier. Camille didn’t know anything about owning or running a book store. So who better to turn to as a partner than someone else who also has no experience whatsoever in book selling?
Jori Bercier does have a lot of other skills though. Jori has a graphic design business called McCaulley Media that focuses on working for non-profits who can’t afford to market themselves. Jori leads mission groups and pilgrimages for Magnificant Travel. She speaks Spanish and French, and has a masters degree in Human Health.
